Edwin Stanton Porter was the first to discover that cutting separate scenes together could create a story, he realised that by doing this will help to create an emotional and psychological impact on the audience.

I n this film edwin only used 9 shots some of them being interior of the Engine House,Leaving the Engine House and a shot of the fire. the film is known to be the earliest film that uses cross-cutting. After making this film on his following film he tried out techniques such as different types of lights, close ups and changing shots within a scene.

Quentin Tarantino is an american screenwriter, director, producer and actor. He is well known for directing kill bill and inglourios bastards.
