Case Studies

1.     Station: LBC
       Programme and time: Night News 6.30pm
       Reporter: Ben Taylor
       Purpose: inform
       Genre: Factual
       Target Audience: Evening listeners


In this speech package the reporter follows the OFCOM and Police officers as they raid a pirate radio station. After asking the officers a few questions about where the raid will take place we then here them getting ready and Ben Taylor the reporter begins to tell the audience the details about where the are when driving to the radio station in the car we can hear the pirate radio station playing the audience becomes aware of this when the reporter says it. 

As the raid takes place the reporters descriptions make it easier for the audience to understand exactly what is going on. we can also hear whats going on this also makes it easier to picture.

2. Station: BBC Radio 2
       Programme and time: Arts Show
       Reporter: Claudia Winkleman
       Purpose: Educate and inform
       Genre: Arts, Theatre, music
Target Audience: Theatre lovers 

The at show correspondent Anna Bailey goes to see the musical of The Bodyguard and wants to find out peoples thoughts and opinions who also saw the musical. The audience hears her asking different people questions about the film such as what was there favourite parts or songs in the musical/film.

3.  Station: BBC Radio 4 
       Programme: PM
       Reporter: Eddie Mair
       Purpose: Inform
       Genre: News

       Target Audience: People interested in reading 

In this speech package a interview takes place about a new library that opens in 2013 which will allow people to buy and borrow ebooks. The interviewee also talks about the lack of people using libraries because of the new technology of ebooks.
